Call for Nominations – Assessment of Invasive Alien Species

The Plenary of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) and the Multidisciplinary Expert Panel would like to formally invite Governments and stakeholders to nominate experts for the assessment of invasive alien species.

The objective of the assessment of invasive alien species and their control will be, among others:

• To assess the array of such species that affect biodiversity and ecosystem services;
• The impacts on agrobiodiversity and food, human health and livelihood security;
• Discover major pathways for and drivers of the introduction and spread of such species between and within countries;
• Assess the global status of and trends in the impacts of such species and associated management interventions by region and subregion.
