Capacity Building Workshop: Applying for Opportunities

The Capacity Development Commission (CDC) is working on strengthening the member's skills and motivation to work through a soft skills-based webinar. Furthermore, IFSA members and officials may join. The first session of the workshop series would be on the topic: APPLYING FOR OPPORTUNITIES.
The APPLYING FOR OPPORTUNITIES would focus on improving and developing the skills of IFSA members by giving them work tools to encourage them to apply for open calls of IFSA. The topic would be divided into two sessions;
SESSION 1:
- How to write a CV/motivation letter effectively
- How to tailor the letter to the advertisement
Speaker: Lisa Prior, former IFSA Vice President, and currently working at EFI in the joint EFI-IFSA-IUFRO project on “Global student networking and green jobs in the forest sector".
SESSION 2:
- How to search for opportunities in IFSA (Events, leadership, traineeship/internship) and other international organizations.
- How to read and understand common international organizations' job, leadership, and other opportunities advertisements.
Speakers: Janice Burns, Deputy Coordinator of IUFRO's Special Programme for Development of Capacities & Dr. Folaranmi Babalola, Associate Professor of Forest socio-economics at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria.
