Climate Consultant

London startup raises £2M to offer true carbon removal techniques and tackle climate changeSupercritical's software enables one to measure, reduce, and offset your climate impact in weeks without the need for a sustainability team. Supercritical says its platform assesses a company’s carbon impact, creates an actionable plan for reducing their emissions and recommends a portfolio of high-quality carbon removal offsets for companies to purchase. It will effectively be building a marketplace of carbon removal projects such as enhanced weathering, bio-oil sequestration and direct air capture.

The consulatant  will be dealing directly with customers from the start, learn quickly, and make a real difference in our climate emergency fight.

• Calculate carbon footprints / accounts of companies
• Develop net-zero roadmaps and emission reduction plans 
• Input into ongoing development of footprinting tools and processes
• General research support 
• Support our customers on the topics of net-zero, ESG and TCFD
• Work with Head of Climate on carbon removal projects vetting and Supercritical climate policy positioning
• Over time, take responsibility to independently serve our customers and support future climate associates

Requirements:

• You have a bachelor and preferably a masters in sustainability, environmental engineering or climate science related field, or equivalent experience
• You have 1-5 years of work experience, ideally in Sustainability Consulting focusing on corporate carbon accounting
• You have in-depth practical knowledge of GHG Protocol plus at least one of the following topics: 

1. Corporate climate disclosure and reporting (ESG, TCFD, CDP etc.)
2. Negative emission / carbon removal technologies 
3. Carbon offsetting market

• You have excellent numerical skills and strong proficiency with Excel/spreadsheets, a methodical approach and can work independently
• You care about data integrity and quality
• You have a lot of curiosity, common sense and a broad understanding of carbon, climate and sustainability issues
• You're excited by the opportunity of an early-stage startup and faster development than a typical sustainability consultancy would provide
• You can engage people from different background and with different agendas
• Advantageous to be confident in communicating with customers and excel at organisation, in order to take more direct ownership of customer success including scheduling meetings and leading kick-off and debrief sessions

• You have high integrity, care about real climate impact, and can guide customers on this journey
