Conservation Biology Internship
Para La Tierra (PLT) is based in the small colonial town of Pilar, located in the southwest of Paraguay. The city sits near the confluence of the Paraguay and Parana Rivers, amid the largest wetland in the country. The Neembucu floodplain is home to an amazing diversity of birds, insects, amphibians and fish.
The intern can choose to begin their own project from scratch depending on their own interests, or can pick a project from the PLT list of options, which can be found on the website. By the time the intern arrives they’ll be in the final stages of planning their internship and ready to start exploring the habitat.
Interns will be directly involved in helping to conserve this threatened habitat by aiding in scientific investigation of the area and making the results public to help raise awareness of the ecological importance of the Neembucu Wetlands.
