Description

The Government of Jamaica has identified the use of water harvesting including rainwater harvesting systems as one of the needed measures to reduce the insecurities associated with water availability for agriculture and potable use.  Such systems will also reduce the vulnerability of local communities such as those located in Northern Clarendon and West Kingston to the impacts of climate change.

One activity under this programme is to enhance water harvesting systems in selected communities. As such, a consultant is needed to help in an analysis of the policy and institutional framework for water harvesting in Jamaica, identify suitable rainwater harvesting options in the selected communities and develop training material and guidelines for future design, operations and maintenance of such systems.
