The Environmental Technologist, Aquatic Habitat Toronto is responsible for the administration of the multi-level government programming committee for waterfront projects and initiatives, and provides a single point of contact with multiple stakeholders.

This position also supports the planning, development, monitoring, and implementation of specific habitat creation, restoration, and monitoring projects that are priorities of the Toronto Waterfront Aquatic Habitat Restoration Strategy

Some of the main responsibilities for this position include, among others:

  • Provides coordination and administrative support to Aquatic Habitat Toronto activities;
  • Participates as team member and acts as a contact and resource for the design and implementation of internal and external habitat creation and restoration projects e.g HEAT modeling;
  • Maintain effective liaison with other agencies (Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Parks Canada, Environment Canada, Canadian Wildlife Cervices, Ports Toronto).
