Get ready for a Strategic Workshop on Climate Change and Water.

Climate challenges have been central to the World Water Council’s strategy in recent years, as it exacerbates existing challenges to water resources development and management encompassing many disciplines, nations and societal dimensions. 

The central objective of the meeting is to mobilize and encourage a range of political, institutional, technical, and scientific stakeholders to work together to assure the continued and improved long-term visibility of water within climate discussions as well as the implementation of national commitments. Here are a few strategic action plans among others that will be discussed at the workshop:

• Work with governments and key partners to elevate the role of water in adaptation to climate change on the political agenda;
• Work with partners to better define the financing challenges of multi-purpose infrastructure; 
• Pursue, with key partners, opportunities for adaptation on critical water issues by challenging conventional thinking.
