Description

Conservation International (CI) is looking for an intern on Global Restoration Opportunities based in Arlington, United States. The Global Restoration Opportunities Intern will play a key role in this process. Working through CI’s Global Strategy Group and in partnership with CI’s country programs, the intern will be responsible for developing a database that categorizes the financial costs and enabling policies of different restoration pathways (agroforestry, natural regeneration, planted forests etc). They will also map out major restoration actors, both national and international, who are supporting restoration implementation. This data will be used to set organizational priorities for supporting the creation of restoration incentives and strategically guiding investments to areas of need.

The key responsibilities include:

  • With guidance from the Climate Team and CI’s country programs, develop a database that categorizes the financial costs and enabling  of different restoration pathways at a national and sub-national scale. 
  • Map out key national and international restoration actors across the tropics and identify their thematic. 
  • Work with Climate Change Lead, Climate Core Team members, and Restoration Fellow to contribute to research products, such as policy briefs, technical analyses, and/or expanding case studies.
