Description

Climate racism refers to a ruptured ecological and social system, in which racialized people have a lower life expectancy (in lifespan or quality) because of institutionalized violence.

The workshop is organized by the Scholas Environmental Committee (International Institute of Social Studies) and is hosted by CLuB (Climate Liberation Bloc). It will allow us to study climate racism by looking at four aspects: historical, political, military and mediatic climate racism, in order to generate insights into the existential crisis we find ourselves in and interlocking ideation of white (human) supremacy.

The dynamics of the session will include an interaction part and the opportunity to reflect on our own positionality.
