The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH or GIZ, in short, is a German development agency headquartered in Bonn and Eschborn that provides services in the field of international development cooperation. Strong knowledge of international climate change discussions and relevant international frameworks such as the United Nations Framework for Climate Change Convention (UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement is a requirement for the internship.
The goal is to promote the utilization of the flexible mechanisms under the Kyoto Protocol and support actors in the transition to the new market mechanisms under the Paris Agreement. In this regard, the project aims to promote carbon markets in Uganda and the East African region. It supports to enable Uganda and East African countries to play a stronger role in the use and further development of carbon market opportunities
Please be informed that the candidates are only allowed to apply if the person is currently enrolled as a student or graduated not longer than six months ago from the start of your internship. GIZ pays a monthly stipend of €1.608,- (gross).
