Intern in Environment Affairs

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment.

Responsibilities:

• As appropriate support the overall work of the InforMEA Team, including with the preparation of working group meetings, including as appropriate the collaboration with partners and consultants, and in the implementation of the second phase of the InforMEA Project - InforMEA - the United Nations Portal on Multilateral Environmental Agreements;
• Assist with the tagging of key documents harvested into the InforMEA portal, including but not limited to MEA Conference of the Party (COP) Decisions of particular strategic importance, Agreement texts, E-learning modules, text portions of publications against the set of terms and against Sustainable Development Goals, Targets and indicators, as well as other internationally agreed goals and targets;
• Assist with research and drafting in support of the E-learning section of InforMEA as appropriate;
• Assist with monitoring and use of the different components of InforMEA by users;
• Management, under supervision, of social media tools such as Facebook and Twitter.
