Description
As Expert Agriculture and Nutrition Policy, you implement projects of Welthungerhilfe's lobbying and advocacy work, which aim to improve the quality of German and European development policy and programmes on food and nutrition security and to provide increased public financial support for these purposes.
Your responsibilities
- National and international advocacy on agriculture, food, food security, climate action, financing for development, innovation
- Development of policy positions in the fields of agriculture and nutrition and representation of these positions towards national and international policymakers, business representatives, civil society and the public
- Supporting the development dialogue with representatives from politics, business, science, civil society and the media
- Collaboration on the conception and development of lobbying and advocacy measures, including the preparation and execution of conferences, expert discussions, etc.
- Application and development of Monitoring Instruments (MEAL) including proper reporting
- Creation of background information and writing of correspondence, speeches and publications
Your profile
- A university or polytechnic degree in policy or advocacy or similar qualification
- Expertise in at least one of the following topics: agriculture, nutrition, food security, climate policy, development, finance, innovation
- Experience in strategy building and implementation
- Experience in political and advocacy work at national and international level (EU, UN)
- Experience in the creation of complex and comprehensive analyzes and conceptions in the area of development cooperation
- Experience in financial management of donor funded projects
- Representation experience to representatives from politics, business, civil society, science, media at national and international level
