Work4Progress is a programme launched by the ”la Caixa” Foundation with the objective of generating new employment opportunities for women and young adults in India, Mozambique and Peru. The “la Caixa” Foundation is the leading organisation of the programme that promotes an open platform for social innovation in each of the aforementioned countries, formed by networks of nonprofit organisations and universities.

The Work4Progress platforms are anchored by Development Alternatives in India, Ayuda en Acción in Mozambique and Entreculturas in Peru. Inspired by “grand challenges”, or the idea of articulating challenges to focus efforts on addressing development problems, the “la Caixa” Foundation and their partner organisations decided to launch an open innovation challenge targeted at supporting the work currently being developed within the W4P geographies. The Work4Progress Challenge is seeking solutions from tech innovators for their three Global Challenges in India, Mozambique and Peru. Solutions can be submitted by September the 2nd, 2019. Finalists also known as “Solvers” - will be selected based on their proposals in the countries of implementation in October. 

Selected Solver teams will work with the Work4Progress India, Mozambique and Peru platforms, a supportive community of peers, funders, and experts, attend local international events, and receive access to a maximum of EUR 200,000 in prize funding for the 2019 Challenges.
