The objective of the 'Forest Resources Assessment and Monitoring to Strengthen Forest Knowledge Framework in Azerbaijan' project is to introduce sustainable forest management into Azerbaijan in order to increase social and economic benefits from forests, to improve the quality of existing forests and to increase carbon sequestration. In the framework of the project it is aimed to support the development of a system to provide country-wide reliable, up-to-date information on forest resources, forestry related elements and their participatory assessment under globally accepted criteria, as well revitalize the forest management planning system. Perspective applicants will have the following duties among others:
- Support the Department of Forest Development (DFD) in technical preparations of national forest inventory field work and in implementation of the national forest inventory;
- In collaboration with national counterparts, prepare a detailed data collection and analysis work plan including tentative schedule of field missions to be conducted;
- Assist in NFI-related trainings, workshops and seminars organized as required.
Candidates will be assessed based on the following requirements and technical skills among others:
- University Degree in Forestry, Natural Resources Management or a related discipline;
- At least 5 years of experience in data collection, analyses, and interpretation;
- Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability;
- Works in a team environment and shows conflict resolution skills.
