Roles and Responsibilities

WWF India’s conservation programme is spread across many geographies located in diverse ecosystems from the Himalayas to the Nilgiris; from arid western regions to the cloud forests of Northeast, and from central India to the Sundarbans delta. WWF India has a conservation programme of terrestrial wildlife and their habitats in partnership with the Government and civil society stakeholders including local communities in nine large conservation areas across 14 States and two Union Territories of India. This area of work is driven by the Wildlife & Habitats Division within the organisation. Conservation at particular geography, often designated as a landscape includes a wide range of actions ranging from research & monitoring, capacity building & institutional development, policy & advocacy and engagement with multiple partners including local communities, industries, government agencies and CSOs.

Desired Qualifications, experience & skills

 

  • Post-graduate degree in Finance/ Management/Operations/ SCM (PGDM/MBA) or a related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Experience in team management.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral); in both English and Hindi. Knowledge of a regional language will be beneficial.
  • High-level interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to WWF-India field sites.
