Restoration Intern Wanted

The Student Conservation Association is seeking interns for a restoration position at the Gateway National Recreation Area. Interns will assist the park with maritime grassland and forest restoration.

Interns will also work with park staff to assist with invasive vegetation removal, preparing sites for native vegetation planting, planting native vegetation (herbacious plants, trees and/or shrubs), preparation for volunteer planting events including logistics, promotion, volunteer recruitment, training and supervision.

Some the various training provided for this position will be, among others:

• Safety training;
• Use of brush cutters and other power equipment for invasive plant removal;
• Plant identification;
• Proper methods for planting.
