Description
The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe is the world's largest security-oriented intergovernmental organization. Its mandate includes issues such as arms control, promotion of human rights, freedom of the press, and fair elections.
The requirement for the job:
- A minimum of 6 years relevant professional experience including at least 3 at a relevant managerial level;
- Practical experience in the areas covered by the mandate of the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe in the politico-military, economic and environmental as well as the human dimension of security;
- Previous experience of working with results-oriented strategic planning and budgeting in all phases of project management and evaluation;
- Strong reporting, presentation, communication and drafting skills; ability to produce comprehensive analytical reports including previous international work experience in this area;
- Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate gender perspective into tasks and activities.
- Excellent organizational skills, diplomatic and negotiating skills;
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team, with people of different cultural and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and with limited time frames;
- Professional fluency in English and working knowledge in Russian, both oral and written; professional fluency in Russian is a strong asset;
- Ability to operate windows applications, including word processing and e-mail.
Additional skills required for the Job:
- Working knowledge of the Tajik language;
- Experience of working in Central Asia and/or knowledge of the region;
- Knowledge of OSCE principles and commitments, the OSCE Competency Model and the OSCE common regulatory management system (CRMS);
- Previous international work experience and/or experience in field missions.
