Description
The Okanagan Basin Water Board and the Canadian Water Resources Association, will host this year's Environmental Flow Needs Conference 2018 in British Columbia, Canada. The Environmental Flow Needs (EFNs) of a stream are defined as the volume and timing of water required for effective functioning of the aquatic ecosystem – for fish and other needs.
This conference will bring together representatives from national and international organizations engaged in water management, including fisheries and water managers, regulators, policy-makers, academia, and NGOs.
The conference will cover several themes and focus, among others:
- Water Management tool for decision support;
- Fisheries climate adaptation;
- Effects of the timing of groundwater use;
- Potential applications of EFN approaches.
