The Technical Advisor (TA) is a highly experienced professional with expertise within chronic and transitory food insecure environments and addressing its links with long-term food security. On the Humanitarian Affairs Team, the TA reports directly to the Senior TA. This leader also collaborates closely with CARE’s Food Water Systems and Gender Equity & Empowerment teams along with Country Offices, the regional teams and CARE International. The TA will represent the emergency food and nutrition security unit in relevant platforms and events such as regional/national working groups and the global Food Security and Nutrition clusters.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Science, International Development, Agriculture, or any related humanitarian field
- 8 -10 years humanitarian work experience with a specific focus on assessment, analysis, design and implementation of food security and nutrition programs, M&E, cash transfer and vouchers programs, logistics and food aid management
- Substantial experience in deployment and in responding to major emergencies
- Experience working with appropriate emergency donors and relevant UN agencies (e.g., FFP, OFDA, USAID, ECHO, UNHCR, WFP, etc.)
