Volunteer Position for the Water Program in Mozambique
Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) aim at ensuring access to water and sanitation for all. Despite efforts made in the past decades, current water and sanitation coverage in Mozambique is among the lowest in Sub-Saharan Africa with only 50.3% having access to safe water and 27% to adequate sanitation.
UNICEF is seeking for suitable candidates to fulfill a Volunteer position within the Water team of the UNICEF Mozambique water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) Programme to undertake tasks such as:
- Support organization of information on water supply related interventions, including geographic information system (GIS) mapping of interventions undertaken in previous years;
- Support the documentation of good practices and development of technical notes for water supply interventions conducted by UNICEF and partners in previous years;
- Undertake and support field work and analysis of information related to operation, maintenance and management of water supply systems as per the various UNICEF interventions;
- Support the development and dissemination of capacity building and training materials; as well as perform communication activities.
The applicable Volunteer Living Allowance is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities and normal cost of living expenses.
