Description
Global Affairs Canada would request that interventions by participants be limited to 2 minute each to enable maximum participation. Please use the chat box for additional comments (inputs will be saved). They would suggest that inputs be framed by the following guiding questions.
GUIDING QUESTIONS
- What opportunities exist to establish partnerships with various types of organizations (including non-governmental organizations, private sector, Indigenous groups, and academia) to undertake work in ODA-eligible countries to achieve the climate change adaptation objectives of those countries and/or organizations?
- What areas of climate change adaptation are most suitable to these sorts of partnerships (e.g. nature-based solutions, climate smart agriculture, etc.)? In what areas does Canada have something distinct to offer?
- Are there areas of climate adaption partnerships that would be suitable to the use of blended finance (e.g. contributions, including repayable, as well as concessional loans)?
- To pursue and develop these opportunities, what kind of supports (e.g. tools, structures, facilitation, etc.) might be required from a potential Climate Partnership initiative funded by the Government of Canada?
CROSSCUTTING QUESTIONS
- What more can the Government of Canada do to advance gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls through climate action?
- What more can the Government of Canada do to better recognize, respect and safeguard Indigenous Peoples’ rights, knowledge systems, and legal orders through climate action?
