International Conference on Successful Transformation toward Land Degradation Neutrality

The International Conference on “Successful Transformation toward Land Degradation Neutrality (Future Perspective)” in commemoration of the 25th Anniversary of the coming into force of the United Nations Conventions to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) will take place on, 17-19 June 2019, in Ankara, Turkey. The conference will be co-hosted by Soil Science Society, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, General Directorate of Combating Desertification and Erosion and Konya Food and Agriculture University, TURKEY.

There will be two forest-related sessions; (i) Successful transformation of forest sector for LDN: focus on preventing forest loss, and (ii) Integrated planning approaches for sustainable use of land/soil resource. Can Vatandaslar, a member of Sectoral WG 3 – ES in Forestry production systems, will be there with an oral presentation on “ES indicators for assessing erosion control service of forests”.
