UNCCD has another 9 LDN country profiles, adding up to a total of 30

The LDN Country Profiles provide evidence-based arguments that contribute to making the case for investing in measures to avoid, reduce and reverse land degradation. These profiles demonstrate the importance and multiple benefits of taking actions to achieve Land Degradation Neutrality. The country profiles highlight the role that land issues play in two key areas of the global agenda:

  1. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), featuring in several cases the National Voluntary LDN Targets and Measures set by countries in the context of SDG target 15.3 on Land Degradation Neutrality – a key target of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals; and
  2. Climate Change, showcasing those land-based commitments as stated in the Nationally Determine Contributions – a cornerstone of the Paris Agreement.
  3. The new countries are:
  • Burkina Faso
  • Lesotho
  • Belarus
  • Zimbabwe
  • Lao People's Democratic Republic
  • Sierra Leone
  • Senegal
  • Malawi
  • Guyana
